New on offer: Corona rapid tests

The Federal Council sees corona rapid tests as an important building block in combating the pandemic and enabling further relaxations. Fairmask therefore now offers FOPH-validated antigen self-tests for direct virus detection of SARS-CoV-2. All it takes is a swab in the front of the nose - a much more convenient procedure.

With large-scale mass and self-tests, outbreaks are to be better detected nationwide - and people with negative results are finally to be given relief in their daily corona routine. The Federal Council thus presents a new ray of hope in a seemingly endless crisis.

Rapid and self-tests are dubbed "game-changers" and panaceas. In Germany, the latter were sold out in pharmacies and supermarkets within hours. A similarly high rush is expected in Switzerland. The BAG has validated selected rapid tests and also defined the criteria for tests for self-testing. 

The "Boson Rapid SARS-CoV-2 Antigen Test" offered by Fairmask has passed all tests and has been approved by the FOPH. The test is used for the rapid, qualitative detection of antigen against SARS-CoV-2 in nasal swabs (anterior nasal region), but must currently still be carried out by specialists. However, nothing should stand in the way of an approval for self-testing in the near future. The Boson test is currently being tested and will hopefully soon be approved by the FOPH as a self-test.
