Product information

Are you also getting too little vitamin D? 82% of men and 91% of women have a vitamin D intake well below the recommended values (National Consumption Study II, Federal Ministry of Nutrition). Especially adolescents, young adults and seniors are poorly supplied. An undersupply can manifest itself in fatigue and pain and increase the risk of osteoporosis and other diseases.

With the cerascreen® Vitamin D Test you can determine the concentration of 25-OH vitamin D (vitamin D3) in your blood. This enables you to recognise a vitamin D deficiency and to correct it with the help of specific recommendations for action. cerascreen® also provides you with information about your individual vitamin D metabolism.

Advantages

You do not have to visit a doctor's office or wait in line for the cerascreen® vitamin D test. You take the sample comfortably and discreetly at home. The analysis is then carried out in a specialised medical laboratory.

Benefit from our expertise: cerascreen® is the market leader for medical sampling and submission kits in Europe, with 10 years of experience in the development and evaluation of tests. We have developed more than 50 approved send-in test kits (medical devices) and evaluated more than 250,000 samples.

Symptoms

If you have an undersupply or a vitamin D deficiency, it may not even show up with symptoms for a long time. Nevertheless, this can increase the risk of disease, for example osteoporosis, bone softening and bone fractures.

In other cases, however, too little vitamin D also limits well-being and performance in everyday life. Possible symptoms of vitamin D deficiency are:

  • Muscle and bone pain
  • Muscle weakness
  • Increased susceptibility to infections
  • Tiredness, fatigue and low mood
  • Headaches (especially migraines)

Muscle and bone pain: The body needs vitamin D to incorporate calcium and phosphate into the bones to keep them stable. A lack of vitamin D can lead to muscle and bone pain and also muscle weakness.

Fatigue: In studies, people who struggle with constant fatigue often also have low vitamin D levels. When those affected counteracted this with food supplements, the symptoms often improved again.

Susceptibility to infections: Vitamin D is important for the immune defence. The body needs it to produce certain defence cells that fight pathogens. In some studies, people with low vitamin D levels were more prone to catching infections such as colds and flu.

Why vitamin D is important

+ 60% of Germans have a deficiency
The body cannot absorb vitamin D from food alone and therefore depends on the body's own synthesis through sunlight.

+ Strengthens bone structure and muscles
It ensures the body's optimal use of calcium. Through this interaction it counteracts osteoporosis and muscle weakness.

+ Reduces the risk of type 2 diabetes
It stabilises blood sugar levels by improving insulin sensitivity, stimulates insulin production in diabetics and supports metabolism.

+ Reduces the tendency to inflammation
It controls and supports the immune system. Deficiency can lead to immune deficiency, chronic inflammation and autoimmune diseases.

+ Reduces the risk of cardiovascular diseases.
Through its effect on blood pressure regulation and heart muscle activity, it can reduce the risk of developing cardiovascular disease.
